Things to know about dating outside my race?

This guy at my job has shown interest in me. He's puerto rican and i am black. We have been talking for about a 2 weeks and now that we are actually talking about being together it is kind of nerve wrecking to me. Neither of us have dated outside our race before. My parents have taught me to stay in my race and his have taught him to take pride in his latina women. Really I want to know if him being hispanic and me being black is going to effect our relationship. This really outside of my comfort zone and would like to know what to expect.
